Week 11

Sam Hatt Evan Bortmas
Manchester Punchouts Manchester Punchouts
Sam Hatt had a crazy-awesome week for the 1st place Manchester Punchouts to earn his second Munson. He pitched three games during Week 11, all against elite teams (Belgian, Ducks, Aces). In those three games Sam won all three, had 37 strike outs, gave up only five hits, and - most importantly - never allowed a run! Sam Hatt has not only quietly entered the Clown Shu discussion, he may now be the front runner to win it. Sam also had a nice week at the plate getting nine hits that included two home runs.

I am aware the Fun Munson has nothing to do with stats, but Evan deserved the Stat Munson as much as Sam. Therefore, I am going to highlight the most fun part of Wiffleball, which Evan has excelled at doing: hitting home runs. Evan hit five home runs during Week 11, all against teams with good pitching. Those five home runs give him a league leading total of ten. I’ve been to Manchester once, and I noticed two things. 1.) It appears this place grows a lot of corn. 2.) Manchester hosts a canoe race?!?! Awesome! So, to the young lads out there who want to be like Evan Bortmas when they grow up and hit lots of home runs, here is the recipe; eat your corn and race your canoe!
